Jet Rescue Air Ambulance Medical Department is in charge of implementing, supervising, and evaluating the medical care provided by our flight teams in the field. This is done by implementing treatment protocols, reviewing the flight reports after each fight and providing continuing education to the crew members. The department is managed by our Medical Director in coordination with our Clinical Care Supervisor and Chief Flight Nurse.
Xochitl Padua, MD Medical Director
Dr. Padua's role as medical director involves overall supervision of patient care and clinical aspects of the air ambulance service. This is accomplished through pre-flight medical consultation, development of appropriate field medical protocols, quality assurance, and determination of the qualifications and training of all air medical service personnel. Dr. Padua's has been involved in emergency and trauma medicine since she was an EMT. Dr. Padua has been a Certified Paramedic for over fifteen years. She is board certified in 2 Specialties : Internal Medicine and Critical Care. Dr Padua is not a Desk Medical Director, she routinely transports the sickest patients from the most remote areas of the Continent.
