The roles we recruit for
- Flight physicians — critical care, emergency or anaesthesia background, managing patients in a cabin where the nearest help is on the ground.
- Flight nurses and flight paramedics — the clinical backbone of every mission, from routine escorts to ventilated ICU transfers.
- Respiratory therapists for ventilated, neonatal and specialised respiratory cases.
- Pilots type-rated on our fleet, flying international routes into airports and conditions that vary enormously across Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Aircraft maintenance technicians keeping a medevac fleet dispatch-ready rather than schedule-ready.
- Mission coordinators and operations staff — the people who take the call, find the receiving bed, clear the permits and keep the family informed.
- Ground and administrative roles in billing, insurance liaison, logistics and business development.
What the work is actually like
Air medical transport is not hospital work with a better view. You will treat a patient with the equipment you brought, in a cabin you cannot leave, at an altitude that changes the physiology of everything you do, sometimes for eight hours at a stretch. You will hand that patient over in a language that may not be your first, to a team you have never met, and your documentation will be the only record of what happened in between.
It is also some of the most autonomous clinical work there is, and the reason most of our crew never go back to a ward.
What we look for
Current licensure and solid recent experience in your discipline are the starting point, not the thing that gets you hired. What distinguishes the people who do well here is judgement under isolation, the discipline to document properly when nobody is watching, and the temperament to be calm with a frightened family at three in the morning. Working Spanish and English is a significant advantage on almost every role, and close to essential on the clinical and coordination ones.
Specific licence, certification and currency requirements vary by role and by the jurisdictions a given position operates in. We confirm those with you early in the process rather than listing them here, because they change.
